  1. And, of course, people here on this website would never EVER single out the religous for bullying. Gotta be rough, being 83% of the population of the US (Those who claim religious Belief) or 76% (Those who profess to be Christian)... Poor persecuted supermajorities...
  2. Your lame attempts to justify allowing mentally ill people and convicted felons to have guns is just absurd. He's not. He seems to have opposed ineffective additional laws in lieu of simply enforcing the existing laws, which when enforced, do prohibit the mentally ill and felons from owning. Well, that's the whole point, isn't it? Existing laws aren't easy to enforce because they are so easy to circumvent. We see that almost daily. So your beef should be with the police, not the Legislature.

  4. Where did you go to law school? How did you become an expert on Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, and general Jurisprudence, much less the military variant of all of the above?
  5. A bit dated, but the info is still completely accurate: Link
  6. Twaddle. Having a little credibility problem today, Mike? Nope....sure aren't. Same can't be said for you...unless, of course, you have hard proof on individuals who, after having been adjudicated mentally defective or admitted to a mental institution, have then gone to a gunstore and bought guns. So you AGREE with the position that the criteria are currently too lenient, such that they don't identify many of those who are clearly deranged. Nope. If only you had some proof...maybe you should get back to work on your telepathic future crime machine. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Minority_Report??
  7. You mean Gingrich the moral chew toy, served his wife divorce papers while she was still in the hospital recovering from cancer surgery? You know this one is a lie ......right? And... Frist, who claimed to be able to diagnose Terri Schiavo by watching a brief video of her, not having reviewed her file or had any real information, and passing a flurry of laws simply to fellate the Religious Right? Grreat company to claim. Ok, I stand corrected. Care to comment on Dr. Schweitzer, er, Frist's Schiavo debacle?
  8. And why not? Our own Dr. Kallend was able to diagnose Loughner based on nothing more than youtube videos, after all. Just as Frist was not qualified to diagnose Schiavo, (due to lack of info/due dilligence) Dr. Kallend (A physicist, I take it, based on a brief search) is not a MD, a PsyD, nor does he have access to any of the info in Loughner's casefile. Both Doctors would seem to (have) suffer(ed) from a lack of proper training/understanding of the facts or at least Academic/intellectual egomania, clouded by philosophical beliefs which dictate an end to be reached by whatever (logically/legally tenuous) means necessary.

  10. Chapter 11 Reorganization. They're likely trying to renegotiate onerous Union contracts.
