bertusgeert 1 #30 September 20, 2004 This is kind of like the one I pulled the other day. I was bored at work, and started text messaging a lot of people, including a good friend and my girl. So i'm typing along to my good friend about my gf. He just met her the night before, so we are discussing her for while when he tells me I should definately keep her. So I type that I dont really think she's all that, and that there is a lot of things about her that pisses me off etc. etc. Because I was conversing with both of them at the same time I sent this particular message to her by mistake. she just sent me a message back - saying. "OK". Talked it out, and somehow she was cool with it. Either I am super smooth, or super atractive, or shes just super cool. most likely the latter. It'll all work out Kelly! --------------------------------------------- As jy dom is moet jy bloei!
chaoskitty 0 #31 September 20, 2004 Are you buds with your email server admin? Hate to say it, but I've only seen recalls work within the same domain (company). I've had people from outside of my company try to recall emails, and what I get is the original email, and then an email saying that would like to recall that email. I'll PM you my work email, send me an email, and then recall it. I'll let you know if it works.
DJL 235 #32 September 20, 2004 Even if she did read it, she probably wouldn't want to get in the middle of something in your office. chaoskitty 0 #33 September 20, 2004 Quote she just sent me a message back - saying. "OK". That just means that she doesnt think you're all that either and you piss her off too.. and she probably talks to her friends behind your back. At least youre both on the same page. ACMESkydiver 0 #36 September 20, 2004 Oh...sorry Kel!! That's just too damn funny... I've done the same thing, and played it off like a joke...it went ok, I think... ...but I did get laid off. Hmmm (j/k, it was a different company. I didn't get the axe, & hopefully you won't either.) Edited to add: SEE??? I'm a dumbass too!! kelel01 1 #37 September 20, 2004 That would be frightneing, but what I said was true. So I guess I could say it if I had to-- I'm just not good with confrontation. It was good-natured work bitching with a friend. We all do it, although maybe not over e-mail, but WE ALL DO IT. And I dare you to say otherwise. And if you say it out loud, like the TM's who complain about the 270-lb. guy they just had to take, etc., they could be standing behind you. No more of this "holier than thou" bullshit. Hell, even Mary did it, and I consider her to be one of the most moralistic, honest people on here. Thanks for the input.

weegegirl 2 #39 September 20, 2004 Ha! I once had a bad client/email experience. One of our animation houses at an old job had a HUGE Christmas party with all the big shot producers from the NYC area. I was "slightly buzzed", as was our client Rick. Next thing I know, Rick is dragging me out on the dance floor to dance in front of all of my coworkers. Saying no to dancing would have made an even bigger scene. So we were out there for one song and then I snuck away. The next day, I received an email "from" Rick, which was really a hoax from some of my coworkers. The email basically said that dancing was great and he'd like to have dinner next time I was in NYC on business. I replied directly to Rick telling him that I didn't think that was such a good idea but thanks for the offer. Since he hadn't sent the first email out and was completely oblivious, the entire animation house had a big laugh on my part. I felt like such an asshole for weeks. The next few trips into NYC were extremely ackward. Ha... sorry for the ramble, but I had forgotten all about that. Just breathe... hopefully you retracted the email in time. Good luck girlie!!!!!!! Deuce 1 #40 September 20, 2004 QuoteNo more of this "holier than thou" bullshit. That is absolutely not how I meant to come across. Strangely enough, I am not good at confrontation either. I don't have the ability to communicate "I'm annoyed with you, you jerk" without either intimidating the other person, or provoking them to violence. The other advice I would give to anybody who cares to listen is to not ever write down anything in any media that you would not want forwarded to the subject of your criticism. Your friend today may be your competitor for promotion or transfer a year from now. You're right, Kelel, it was a mistake. If nobody finds out, let sleeping dogs lie and learn from the mistake. bill2 0 #44 September 20, 2004 I had a friend do that at the software company we worked at. She hit reply instead of forward on a mass email from the CEO - she thought she was telling her husband what an idiot the CEO was. She panicked after she realized what she had done, but a mgr in our dept said that the CEO had an admin assist. who checked all emails first. Luckily nothing happened. Cross your fingers and hope for the best.
happythoughts 0 #45 September 20, 2004 QuoteOk, sorry. I'm a little sensitive right now, for a variety of reasons Tell him to shave in the future. When I was an employee at GTE, the IT dept was 3000 people. We were divided into Upper mgt, other mgt, and worker bees by 3 group email addresses. An intern, who was recently hired, sent an email to all 3 group addresses telling us "How much he looked forward to working with, and meeting, each of us. That was the source of humor for a while. People kept coming up to the person and introducing themselves for no apparent reason.

Danofre 0 #50 September 20, 2004 I would prepare for the worst but hope for the best. As far as I know you can only reclaim an email if it is inside of the same domain. I am guessing the client is not part of your domain.
